Today’s post is in response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Seven Wonders.”
Khalil Gibran once said that people will never understand one another unless language is reduced to seven words. What would your seven words be?
“In the sweetness of friendship, let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.”
–Khalil Gibran
Love
Friendship
Home
Tolerance
Music
Kindness
Laughter
As I finished my list, I realized the importance of the list is discovering that they are all really just different ways of saying home and love: what I absolutely couldn’t live without.
Our family has four words: belong, enough, gratitude and wonder. Yours are lovely, and thank you for sharing them.

I love the word wonder. That is special for us, too. I believe when we lose a sense of wonder, we lose our ability to enjoy life. Sometimes Carl and I will go out and just stop and delight over how the birds play.

Wow, this is beautiful, on so many levels. I sometimes find love incredibly painful, and I love some people so much that it hurts, and you captured that so well here.
You also reminded me of a post I read a couple of years ago about a tribe in Africa who have no word for Love — when they feel it for another, they simply say — My heart is beautiful for you.

Wow, indeed, what an awesome (in the literal sense of the word) phrase. Love does make our hearts beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this!

I most certainly agree with you. Your seven words are excellent and they convey the heart of someone with a lot of love to give. It is most excellent that you have a wonderful family to share that love with but more than that it’s awesome that you are wise enough to know what you have.
Nice post.

Thank you, Tony! I believe the key to happiness is being able to see and love what you have. Sometimes, when I find myself feeling out of sorts wishing for…whatever, I step back and remind myself that I love my life.
